The training will consist of theoretical and practical training during stages of the growing periods, clean and disinfect poultry holdings and basic understanding of the poultry production industry.

Content of Course: 

- The procedures for preparing the laying house receive point-of-lay chicks
- Procedures for the placements of pullets in the laying house
- Control of ventilation for comfortable environment for the layers
- Availability of the water for the layers and the good working order of the equipments
- Feed management procedures
- Settings of the lighting programs for the layers

When completing this course you will be able to demonstrate a basic knowledge of: 

  • the procedures for preparing the laying house to receive point-of-lay pullets

  • the procedures to be used to control the ventilation for the provision of a comfortable environment for the layers

Basic Pig Husbandry Practices

  • Content of Course: 

- The procedures to be followed in the preparations of the farrowing house
- The procedures to be followed in the preparations of the sows for the farrowing house
- The appropriate feeding practices to different stages of pig production
- Cleaning and the disinfecting of the pig house
- The observance of bio-security in the piggery

Capabilities:

When completing this course you will be able to demonstrate a basic knowledge of: 

  • preparing the farrowing house for farrowing
  • creep feeding, flush feeding and correct feeding practices.
  • the provision of potable water to the pigs
  • clean and disinfecting all pig housing facilities
  • bio-security practices carried out
